My engineer buddy Scott just sent this to me...on first glance it seems pretty cool...I need to spend a little more time actually check it out, though...

It does look interesting. Of course the same tone claims are made by virtually every amp simulator software on the market. But if you have Pro Tools that might be a nice investment....

I would need to play with one...I'm not in love with the samples on the site...

Mark, I've been meaning to ask you...

I know on all the stuff we've done together, you always talk about how noisy your tracks are coming out.

Any idea what that's all about? I mean, by the time you send them to me, it's hardly noticeable, but both collaborations we've done, you've said you had to go in and clean up the guitar parts because they were noisey.

I'm wondering if you've got a CRT monitor or flourescent lights or a dimmer switch or something like that that's causing the interference.

There is a ton of stuff all crammed in my office with florescent lights, the computer stuff, phone (wireless), controls for the HVAC and who knows what else. If I stand at the back of my office I can control it better but its hard to engineer quickly and walk back and forth the whole time so I deal with it...

Gotcha.

Have you thought about finding the quietest part of the room and trying to re-arrange the room to accomodate that spot for your recordings? Also, if you can turn off the flourescent lights while you're tracking, that'd probably help a ton.

I just think that no matter what kind of guitar preamp or modeller or whatever you're using, you fighting an uphill battle until you can remedy the electronic noise you're picking up.

Since you already have PT you can just buy the Eleven plug-in. IMO, the only thing that's useful about this is the fact that it comes with LE and thus you can use it as your hardware dongle... otherwise it's a rather $$$ PodXT. :o

I looked at one of those, but I'd rather buy a wireless keyboard. :o

That is actually very interesting, especially for our big room....
