Songwriting contest ??

I would like to know if any of you have ever entered a songwriting contest and what are your feelings about such contests.


I for one have never entered one mainly because of the tight control over the fine print in the submissions of one's songs. My gut feelings were "don't do it".

I've never done it...it sounds kind of lame but I don;t want people "judging" my songs. "Buying" is fine, though ;D

Mark , I think you hit it right on about "judging", personally when I comment on other peoples songs "all positive or I don't comment", judging to me seems like an unfair process and all these contest are in it just for the ￥　oops sorry $ . I mean I am sure they are looking for a profit motive somewhere in doing these contest.
