YouTube - Way Huge Angry Troll

The mighty Angry Troll from Way Huge Electronics serves up gorgeous portions of volume and gain to pummel the input of your amp with up to +50dB of gain. It adds bite and punch while transforming your mild mannered tone into a beastly sonic onslaught!
The Angry Troll’s two controls interact like a vintage mic pre amp. The Anger knob—a rotary switch with six Fists of Fury positions—adjusts the amount of gain created by the Troll’s op-amp, while the Volume knob regulates the overall output level. High grade components are used for a precisely tuned circuit that works like an extension of your amp. Another tone monster from the mind of Mr. Huge!

Delivers up to +50dB of boost
Precisely tuned to work like an extension of your amp
Adds a little dirt at higher settings
Heavy duty foot switch with quiet relay based true bypass
High grade components for low noise operation

hehe...they finally released it.

saw it at NAMM. its a pretty cool boost. at the lowest setting its a plain old LPB-1 boost pedal. as you set it higher, it overdrives the shit out of itself. sounds really great through non-master volume amps.

price?

It just came out a few days ago, I guess....I can't find a price anywhere for some reason...

yeah, its not on their website.

i used to have a pedal made by Bruce Bennett called the Insane Gain. it was 3 LPBs in the same housing. the first two were straight boosts. the third had a master volume. the idea was that you could overdrive the shit out of the 3rd channel, and still have a clean boost to push the amp. its the only distortion pedal that actually sounded good with my Mesa. but i sold it because it was almost too much flexibility.

i most likely won't buy this pedal new. but i'll jump on it used because it'll do exactly what i want it to with the Mesa.

I like the sound if it - but it most definitely did color the tone some on the clean boost - a bit of the top end was missing. But I like what it does quite a bit. I might look into getting one if the price is not off the charts...

its an LPB-1. adds a bit of fatness to the bottom end and a tiny bit of grit.

also, i just called them. $119.

Not a bad price at all!

A couple more booked gigs and I'll probably spring for one. It does that just on the edge of dirt tone real well, and that is what I use for my 'clean' country tone live.

before you drop $120 on it, check out the regular old EHX LPB-1. it should be $40. i like the Way Huge for the hairier settings, which is what i'll be using it for.
