What would you use over a progression like this:
F6 , Bsus2 x2
Gmaj7, Amaj7, Dm7 x3

Is it F6 to BbSus2? If so, then you can play F major over it.
If it IS Bsus2 then you'll have to treat each chord like its own key center and play F major over the F6 (or F Major pentatonic might be good) and either B Major or B major Pentatonic over the Bsus2. Using just the chord tones (F A C D over the F6 and B C# F# over the Bsus2) is always a safe bet, too......
Over Gmaj7, Amaj7, Dm7 you have some issues.
Seeing the roots G, A and D would make me think that you have the IV, V and I chords in the Key of D Major, but You have G Major7( good for the IV chord) A Major 7( not so good since the V chord should be a Dominant 7 or just A7) and D is Minor.
How long does each chord sound for? At least a measure a piece? If so then you can either do the chord tone thing or treat each chord like its own key and play G major, A Major and D Minor.
Can you post a recording of the progressions? Hearing it in its musical context would probably give me a better idea of how to approach this since usually a "pure theory" answer is the least musical one. If I get some time tomorrow afternoon I can even record a sample solo for you to hear how I would approach it...

Nice! We're finishing bathtime and putting the kids to bed so I'll check it out with a guitar in my hands a little later...

I'm basically playing just F major through it but aiming for certain chord tones and also using the D Minor pentatonic scale that resides inside F Major.
Your chord progression (once I started playing over it) sounds more like Fsus to D sus2 than Bbsus....

The Bbsus2 I played in the 1rst position = F,Bb,C,F I think that's a Bbsus2 idn_smilie
I have been noodling over it in d minor pent/ D dorian, but it didn't sound quite as nice as your take.
Thanks O0

That would be a Bbsus2...I think my hearing is going messedup0
I wouldn't do the D dorian because there is a B natural in it. If you play B Aeolian you'll get all the same notes but with a Bb instead...
Try some of the licks in my "Over Pennsylvania" lesson...its in E Minor but you can just move them down 2 frets and you have all of my secrets :weebz:
