My latest partscaster... the wife calls it a "banana cream pie".

I wanted a hardtail '57 reissue, but Fender let me down by not offering it. I started with a '57 reissue neck with vintage tuners and a Warmoth ash hardtail Strat body routed s-s-s. The pickups and pots are '57 reissue with cloth-insulated wiring. I installed a five-way Switchcraft switch. A single-ply eight-hole 'guard and a Fender hardtail bridge and string-ferrules finish off the body.

The color is a one-off pale yellow lacquer I mixed and sprayed. It's a difficult color to photograph... the last pic is closest to the actual hue.

Probably a nice Strat. It is pretty bland to look at though.

Its a fender. They're all bland. Were you expecting something outlandish?

I really like the table it is sitting on. A lot.

At first I thought I was looking at an N.O.S. version of the Yngwie Strat. Its an OK guitar :idk:

It's pretty nice, but he should have put better pickups in it - but I guess the '57 vibe was what he was after. A solid workmans guitar....

what's wrong with the pickups?

Nothing really since he was after the '57 kind of sound. Just personal opinion that many other makers producer better pickups for the Strat than Fender (Rio Grande, Lollar, Duncan, Kinman, VooDoo, Hamel, etc).

Yes - yes they (we) are....

And I don't even have a Strat right now.....

The best Strat pickups I've got are the ones in my US Masters. No idea what kind of pickups they are though.

I've also got a set of Kinman AVN '62s in one of my Warmoths. Truth be told, I like the sound of the Duncan APSIIs in my other Warmoth more than the Kinmans...and they cost about 1/2 as much.

But I use the bridge humbucker on both guitars about 75% of the time, so it doesn't really matter much to me. :o
