OK, here's the official on the Mig. Traded even up for the Blues Jr that I bought for $240. I couldn't bond with the Blues Jr at all, plus I have a couple of other amps that do Fender really really well.

After a few flakey offers, I got a call from a guy that really wanted the Blues Jr. He offered the Mig and I quickly said I would take it. A day later we met at the Guitar Center in Robinson and did the swap.

Well after crushing my ears for an evening, I have to say this is the real deal. The amp stays clean for a long time and breaks nicely at around 7. From here on out it just gets dirtier, but not too dirty. AC DC dirty. With a Strat, it's easy to get a great Deep Purple sound. There's not a bad sound in the amp. Dime the tone knobs or take them way back, the amp still sounds great. Just dial in the tone you want and off you go. You can dial in huge amounts of bottom and it doesn't get flubby. The crunch seems more Bassman than Plexi, with a nice tight bottom end, but I haven't heard a Plexi in 20 years.

Now we all know that it's impossible to use this amp at 7. The amp is rated at 45 watts. So how does it sound at 2 or 3? Just as good, but in a clean sort of way. Overtones are still there. In comes the pedalboard. This thing just takes to any pedal I can put through it. Not that I didn't expect that it would, I am just surprised at how good this amp really sounds. Thick, dripping, lead tones that just jump off the fretboard. Palm mutes sound great and the punchiness of the amp hits you in the chest every time. I have to say that this one will be around until the end.

There are 2 inputs with separate non master volume knobs, I is darker and kills with a Strat. II is bright and works great with humbuckers. There is no effects loop in the signal path.

That is a really nice looking amp head. What tubes does it use for the power amp section - EL34's?

The power tubes are 5881's and the pres are all 12ax7's It looks like they are the originals, all sovteks. I'm going to check the bias, but I need to put a 1 ohm in the ground pin wire. It's been humming along all this time so I'm sure it's fine.

I'm using it this weekend, I've had it cranked here, but can't wait to hear it out in a mix. :D

Do both and then use Windows Movie Maker to overdub the good audio.

That's what I've been doing for live videos where I have good audio recorded. Movie Maker is pretty easy to use and lining the audio up with the video isn't too hard.
