I thought I'd posted this here, but sfaik it looks like in past I've only posted rough mixes or at best unmastered finals.
OK, wanna hear the ENTIRE new unreleased Crash Pad album? Go to this page and click on the top song, and all of them will play, one after another!

These are now all the final mixes, mastered by recording engineer legend Rodney Mills in Atlanta, and recorded by our own local legend Rob McGregor here at Goldentone Studio. Also, with each song there's a little piccy (you can click for a little bigger pic) that kinda illustrates an idea or concept that the song is on about.
PLAY LOUD!
We got the masters back WAY quicker than we thought we would. Working on finalizing the cover art, then on to printing and pressing the vinyl copies.
In the last 5 days, we've been played on the two major local music shows on two different stations (one broadcast, one internet-only), and on a third station (a community-run internet station) that's set up in two-hour blocks like many college stations, tonight one of the DJ's played the ENTIRE effin' album.
Plus, unbeknownst to me the promoter that did the toys-4-hospitalized-kids benefit we did just before Christmas put up a local bands promo video with little snippets of tons of bands, and I'll be danged if you-know-who wasn't the first 33 seconds (warning: second band that comes on after us is way louderer):
http://youtu.be/fFCX7UQT4t4
Saturday we'll be playing at this, on the Bo Diddley Stage on the downtown Community Plaza:

So, there's that.
Comments and critisicism of the album welcome. (Songs are not in the order as will be on vinyl.) Questions answered to best of my ability. I'm just the guitarist though.

I guess by now it's obvious that I didn't even turn my computer on over the weekend. :o
Maybe I'll get to it this week sometime. :D

Listening now.
Pink Slip Rick - I really like it, though I think I listened to the raw (maybe even live) version a month or so back and liked it too. Production is great though. And the song is pretty awesome as well. :aok:
My internets are sucking tonight, so everything is taking a while to buffer. I'll comment on Yesterday's Predictions after it's loaded and I've listened.

Alright...
Yesterday's Predictions: I like the song. Not crazy about the main rhythm guitar tone, but that's not enough to keep me from liking the song. The lead reminds me of the lead to My Sharona. :o

Stevo: I like this one too. Are those oohs and aahs actual vocals or a keyboard? If they are actual vocals, they are tight as hell. Love the outro.

Make Haste Slowly: I'm sounding like a broken record. Sounds great. I like the song. Great production...yada, yada, yada.
How about I listen to the rest and only comment if there's something that really, really stands out...good or bad? :D
Pink Slip Rick is way too awesome. I guess living in FL makes it that much more awesome, the pic is classic.

Wow, thanks guys!
Prages: yeah the backing on Stevo is real. It's 4 parts. I did one, Mitch (other guitarist) did one, and our bassist and best singer Shrek did two.
Chad: since I sorta stole the title from the folks at pinksliprick.com, we're working with them to do a cross-promo. They have raw live footage of us we provided them, and are going to intersperse it w/footage of their rallies to make a video of the song and put on their website, fb page, etc. But we're going to do our own video as well. The pic on soundcloud is stolen from the pinksliprick.com site.

Looks like I will have to check out their site. I work for a public school system, so there is nothing I would rather do than give Rick his pink slip.

I feel ya. I'm a former public school teacher (taught in downtown Jax) married to a public school teacher. As a result of Scott and his cronies, my wife's program was cut this year and she lost her position; thankfully she's continuing contract so she couldn't be fired outright, but she's now teaching first grade reading after a 20+ year career in adult ESOL (which is what her master's degree is in).
PS-- on facebook, if you do that, they're found under "firing Rick Scott," same group

That sucks about your wife's job. I will have to check out the FB group too.

Thanks for listening guys!
Btw, our "record label" (crazy guy who's sunk like $4k into us over the last few months!) put up a new website for us over the weekend, here:
http://www.crashpadband.com
There's a link on the front page to where you can DOWNLOAD the songs as well now. Please feel free to. If anyone wants to buy a physical CD, I'll get around to that after our show this Wednesday, for now I'm concentrating on selling those at shows and in local shops. I'll be happy to mailorder you a CD, signed if you like, once I can figure out postage and packaging costs. I'll do a couple "experimental" mailings to some friends who've expressed interest first, to see what that the price will work out to.
Also, for vinyl fans, the album will be available on vinyl in a couple months. So if you still have a phonograph and are into collecting vinyl, you can d/l for the time being and get the record in a bit.
Thanks again everyone!
PS-- Peeker, meant to listen to your soundcloud stuff today and forgot my speaker cable for my computer at home, hopefully get round to it tonight
