OK I have a cd full of blues backing tracks in various keys that I like to noodle over. I originally thought that if the track was in the key of A I could use the blues scale in A or really any scale as long as its in the same key "A". or should I be figuring what chords make up the backing track and use THAT sale when playing over THAT specific chord.

It seems to sound good at certain points and not so good at other points during the same backing track, I may be over thinking it.

Can you post an example? Sometimes "blues in A" isn't as simple as it sounds...

When I get home I will try and figure out how to post a backing track, I was hoping I was over thinking it, BUT judging from your answer I am not.
