I'm going to build a combo cabinet for the Bandmaster head that I bought. I've always wanted to try 2-10's. My only other option that I'm considering is 1-12. No 2-12s, too big. Any concerns about 2-10s? Also, what 2-10s would you put in there. They will probably be one of the offerings from eminence unless you guys have some other recommendations. Maybe the copperhead.

2x10 if you're playing blues or country. 1x12 Greenback for a good all around sound with the blackface head...I use a 2x12 Greenback cab with my '6 Bassman and I have a 12" Greenback in my Deluxe and its my favorite speaker to use with the old Fenders...

Im going to disagree. A good head will give you all the mids you need, and any 4x10 I've ever heard is too nasally.

I think I'm going to lay it out so that I can swap out the baffle board for either setup easily.:aok:

i had this choice to make when i had my Allen Encore built, which is basically a tweaked out Bandmaster. i went with the 2x10. it spreads the sound out a bit more evenly so that its not so beamy. this means i don't have to stand directly in front of the amp in order to hear it, and can still keep the volume low. anybody who calls my tone "nasally" is deaf.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Greenback is only a 25 watt speaker, so using it in 112 cab is going to be risky with a Bandmaster.

Here's what I came up with design wise. The baffle is sized so that I could put 2 10s or 1 12.

Do you have a clip? I was thinking those or the copperheads.

no clips, sorry.

i went with these at David Allen's suggestion. he felt that the bigger magnet would give me more headroom, which is something i was looking for. i had the amp built to be a mini-twin. so i got the 40 watt transformer, 10s for better diffusion, and speakers with bigger magnets.
