Its a shame that my life is directly affected by how much some suit on wall street thinks a company is worth.

Chances are it won't be getting any better today. The Nikkei lost 11.41% (-1,089 points). :-\

Once again, the fact that whether some moron on wall st wants to buy or wants to sell stock in x y or z company affects me directly is ridiculous. Maybe he is having a bad day? Maybe he smoked a blunt last night and he's paranoid? I think ALL of them did. C'mon, this is just ridiculous.

It's not really as simple as all of that. If companies aren't making money the price of their stock goes down. The investors holding that stock sell on their clients behalf. It's actually a lot more complicated that that as well, but I just don't have enough time to go into it.

And if they ARE making money, and people want to sell, the price goes down. And if they arent making money but MIGHT make money real soon the price goes up. Point is, it is based on speculations, and if enough people speculate that the price is gonna go down, it WILL go down. If enough people speculate that the market will crash, it WILL crash. And that's what pisses me off. Its just really ridiculous.
Not that I want to trade capitalism for communism or anything like that, its just so incredibly stupid that the market works like it does.
