Do you?
I figure it's common, but I thought I'd ask. I have gotten strange lookes a few times. Maybe because it ends up looking like a Manhattan chowder by the time I'm done?

Plus, Oyster crackers are a gift from the gods, but is there any other approved use of them besides in or next to a bowl of clam chowder?

I have not had clam chowder in a long time and I have never tried any hot sauce in it - but it makes perfectly good sense to me.

Oyster crackers are pretty good in tomato soup as well....

Try this one.

It tastes really good, and is clear, so your chowder wont turn red. :aok:

Tabasco isn't bad in chowder, but I prefer something hot.

I agree. Certain things do not need hot sauce. Typically creamy things like chowders I do not add hot sauce.

biggrin I just thought a comment like that was blasphemous around here, where the habanero reins above all.

Sometime, try a little splash. I have loved chowder since I was a kid, and it's still a great way to judge a restaurant. You don't have to put so much in that it becomes a hot food item, but the subtle flavour enhancement is fantastic. You won't regret it.

As soon as someone posts something more humorous to me, I'll change me sigcop0
