View Full Version : So I am the only jackass that has this in my area

It came with 2 16 ohm Eminence Red Coats that where wired for 8 ohm. I took one of the speakers out of the circuit and plugged in just one for the 16 ohms. And this was the first time I got to hear my C30 since I purchased it 4 weeks ago.

So - being I have one 16 speaker in the 2x12 wired - I might take out the other eminence, replace it with one of my celestions and run a separate jack for that speaker - this way I can plug into one speaker or the other depending on my sound and need wants.

Or I might not - I am sure I can get a fuller sound of running a full pair of speakers too - but when gigging out I mic the amp into the PA - so I'm not sure what direction I will go.

I'll probably make a 1 x 12 now for the C30 as a practice amp being I know have 3 speakers that I am not currently using....

I assume it's closed back? If you take the second speaker completely out, you basically have a 'detuned' cab. It should sound pretty good like that, as you'll have closed back cab, but with the rear reflextion coming through the empty hole like an open back cab would have if it were near a back wall.

Yes - It is a fully closed back - the speaker is still in (both of them) just one wired for now.

I also got me some nice little white castle guitar picks to go with it - no fries though. :p
