I would have killed to have that guitar when I was in high school...I did have an all black strat style with an ebony Jackson neck that we called the "Stealth guitar" in college. I think it was the last guitar I owned with a floyd...my buddy Scott has it now...

I like that a lot, although i have never been much interested in a FR equipped guitar.

Hot. Subtle, not in your face, and I bet it plays like buttah. I'll take it.

Hot! I bet the equivalent equipped Fender would be astronomically more expensive.

Pretty dang nice. I'd really would like to see a tone knob as well, but still one hot guitar. I'm not a Floyd Rose person either, but it fits on that guitar....

hey Prages, if i were to build this guitar from Warmoth today, what do you think it would cost? figure that i'm getting the body and neck pre-painted.

Without actually going to Warmoth and specing it out, I'd guess somewhere around a grand. That's if you stick to alder body and plain maple neck.
I think it cost me about $1100 for my orange one, and it's spec'd pretty much the same, save for the pickups and tuners. I did go with stainless steel frets, though, which was only a $20 upcharge.
I left my neck raw, but the black body should be a little cheaper than my candy tangerine was.

But it doesn't have the Fender name on the headstock. That, I think, would make a big difference.

possibly, but they'd only do it now as a sig model. and though there have been floyd'd fenders in the past, they are missing from the current lineup. probably because they bought Jackson and Charvel, and can now let each company focus on its specialties while streamlining production.

i've had my Ibanez RG since high school. its got Dimarzio Virtual PAFs in it now, so i need a good noise gate for a really convincing and tight metal sound. i guess that's the difference, i really want a high gain shredder for no good reason whatsoever.

I never, EVER pictured you as wanting anything whatsoever to do with shred. :o You know, I think this is the first GPOTD that we've all liked. biggrin
