I've decided to do this a little different today. We'll be evaluating 2 of America's finest automotive offerings.

First up, the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10.

Dodge's take on the modern Muscle Car, the Viper has always been about brute force. The first year these came out (1992), they didnt even have A/C! They did have balls though, and they still do.

- 8.4 liter V10 putting out 600 horsepower and 560 lb/ft of torque

- 0-60: 3.4 seconds

- Top Speed: 202 mph

Next up, a real American classic. The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Vette has always been (well, with very few exceptions) a great looking car with a real American V8 engine, and arguably the flagship American sportscar. The 2008 Z06 does its predecessors proud.

- 7.0 liter V8 putting out 505 horsepower

- 0-60 in 3.7 seconds

Top Speed: 198 mph

You can only choose ONE. Which will it be?

Vette for me, all day every day. Thats one badass car.

Plus its a lot easier to live with than the viper too.

I gotta go with the 'Vette. One of the three classic American sports cars.

Vette for me. I'd probably take a Vette or a good classic Mustang over pretty much anything else ............... as long as I can keep my truck.

Ahhh....two of the reasons Chrysler and GM are in the crapper. biggrin

If I have to pick one, I'll go Viper.

If, however, it was the 1990 Vette ZR1, I'd pick that one. biggrin

Out of those two definitely the Viper but I'd never buy something like that because I don't really have anyplace to realize it's potential.

For the record, I've always been a Viper fan, but I gotta go with the vette on this one. The current model looks better than the current Viper, and it's overall performance is so close that nobody but the most elite drivers would be able to tell the difference.

I'm going with the Viper here.

I like the older Corvettes (I think 1982 and earlier). Haven't cared much for the look since then.

The Viper, while I don't think it's a classic design, looks better to me than the new Vette.

I'd happily drive either though.

I grew up an hour from where Every vette has rolled off the ass'y line...I drooled over them growing up..

And I'd choose the Viper. Nothing say's unrestricted american overabundance and willful disregard for the environment like a V-10 powered death dart !

Bring on teh haterz...

I'd agree with you if they still looked the same as they used to. The original RT10 was one of the best looking cars ever made IMO. Obnoxious, yes, but HOT.
