multiple questions....please help!

Have anyof you ever used or still use Cool Edit Pro 2.0? I have been playing with it and like the idea that I don't need my m-box to record up to 128 tracks.

Also, what is the deal with using a USB board? I have a friend that uses the Behringer XENYX 1204USB 12-Input 2/2 Bus Mixer w/USB and said it is awesome. I am considering buying one.....any ideas comments, or rude gestures?....lol!

I did get a PC that runs XP with 2.66 dual core with 2 gb ram with a cd writer in trade last week. I have the Cooledit Pro 2.0 om there.


Also, do any of you mess with fruity loops? I am looking for some bluesy beats to p;ay over....any guidance on where to get some loops?

The only one of the questions that I can answer is about the USB board. It basically acts as your interface, so you would use it instead of the m-box.

I can't stand Behringer for their business practices (they've been sued for patent infringement successfully twice) as well as their generally shitty products, but their stuff is cheap. If "cheap" is the most important thing to you, then Behringer, Alesis, or things of that ilk would be your best bet.

Personally, I like Allen and Heath. They make good, solid boards with excellent mic preamps and EQs, and are not outrageously expensive, although you'll have to pay more than Behringer.
