remember that $50 GC promotional gift card i got? well i spent it today and got some G7 Nashville capos. basically, its Kyser or Dunlop quick change kinda thing but feels lighter and doesn't clamp down so hard on the strings. it does feel better, and was only $2 more than the Kyser. so hey, free capos.

i'm still not convinced on the regular G7 capo. plus, they're like $45. is a capo really worth that much?

A capo is worth no more than $20.00.

For $45.00 I better get a large Pizza and wings with it.

everything else feels like a huge clamp designed to destroy your frets.

I got a regular G7th capo for Christmas (HC Secret Santa, no less). It's a great capo...way better than the Keyser I used before.

That said, I'd never buy one for $40+, simply because I rarely use a capo. If I did a lot of acoustic gigs and played a lot of songs that required a capo, I'd probably think it was well worth the money though.

The one I've got, the tension is set by how hard you clamp it down. The harder you squeeze it, the more tension it puts on the strings. This lets you squeeze it just enough to capo the strings without pulling them sharp. It's a really nice design.

Oh...I remember now. The old guy....for some reason I had it in my head that it was a Planet Waves product and that I could order one for cost but I had forgotten about that whole deal...its been a long month

i have to be honest here, the only people i see bagging on this product are ones who don't own one. everybody loves them. its just the skeptics, like me, who are like "$45 for a capo?! you're crazy!" but then say, "please excuse me while i play through my boutique/vintage everything rig."

i think i'm set with the Nashville. my problem with capos is that i lose them. $45 is a tough pill to swallow every time i can't find it. so i got two of the cheaper ones and i definitely like them better on my main guitars. i'll certainly keep the others around, but should they disappear completely, i might just have to try the fully priced one.

I have not played a guitar with a G7, but everyone (everyone!) I know who has one loves it. I have two Kyser capos that I use quite a bit. the one I use all the time has loosened up the tension to the point where it does not have the tendency to pull strings out of tune like it did when it was new, so I am really happy with it. But if I was in the market for a new capo the G7 is the one I would buy, given how much I use one...

I still say $45 for a capo is crazy.

It's a damn nice capo though.

Seriously, if you don't tend to lose them, and you use them for more than 1 or 2 songs on acoustic sets that you perform twice a year, then I'd say it's well worth the money to get the G7th capo.

If you lose them, or hardly ever use them though, I think a $20 Keyser is fine.

honestly, the extra $2 for the Nashville was indeed worth it. i've used it on every guitar i have in the past two days. not once has it jumped out of my hand, or clamped down excessively on the strings. it doesn't move around on the headstock like i thought it would. and its as thin as a Shubb.

overall, i'm impressed.

Then there's really no reason for you to get the $45 version.

i don't think so either. but then there's no reason for me to have 5 different distortion pedals. :o
