Several years ago I slapped some fabric and velcro on a plank of wood and called it a pedalboard and I've been using it ever since. It was compact, and contained all the pedals I used, but it was FUGLY. People at HC repeatedly told me how ugly it was. :o

So, I got bored today and finally decided to do something about. I figured I'd go ahead and add my Bad Monkey to it while I was at it. This one took about 2 hours or so to make, compared to the 10 minutes I spent on the last one, but I think it looks a hell of a lot better, and it's only about 1" longer than the old one. Probably put about $20 into it including the wood, velcro, screws, glue, and paint.

I'll copy and paste my answer from HC, too ;D

Sweet! I like how you mounted the foot switch for the amp, too.

Obviously you're not "overcompensating" like some people http://img3.harmony-central.com/acapella/ubb/redface.gif

Definitely looks better than the old one. However, guitar players talking about pedal boards being ugly makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. This is the same breed of folks that call an ugly, beat to hell guitar one that is "beautiful" and has "mojo", and play an amp that is falling apart and looks like utter crap because it is "vintage".

And I get picked on for wanting my guitars to look purty. ;D

I like the fact that you built the amp switches into the board - brilliant! ;D

You are quite the craftsman, Prages. I love the work you did on your head and cab, great stuff.

Nice Prages!!

Moving the amp switches was a nice touch. I also like your minimalist approach to pedals, but having a two channel amp helps. Drilling the holes for the chords gives it a really clean look!

It really does.

Of course, the first thing I did at practice Saturday night was rip the Bad Monkey off the board and pull the wire over to the wah's output. The BM is just way too noisey...or at least it was in front of the Fender HR Deville I was playing through. An OD pedal is kind of wasted on me anyway, since I really like my Peavey's OD channel.

That is one one issues playing a one channel amp (like I do), you cannot get it loud enough to OD without a pedal in most playing situations...

I need two OD pedals because I have two different drive level needs in our band.

For now I will live with the Jekyll/Hyde pedal. It is a good quality pedal and I need to get some gig money flowing before I buy and more equipment. I use my compressor if I need a clean boost, but that is very rare for me...

Those pedals are great for that kind of utility...I had the J/H and the Route 88 at the same time which gave me plenty of options on stage....its nice because you have 2 pedals in one....
