These Cool Cat pedals are kind of neat, 29 bucks for the fuzz and it's got quality metal jacks, a metal housing and true bypass:

Thats actually pretty good sounding for $29.

It's got a lot of usable tones in it.

Supposedly the new line are clones of boutique pedals, the fuzz is supposed to be a clone of a Frantone Peach Fuzz, the OD is a clone of something called a Timmy and the distortion is supposed to be an OCD.
I like that Superfuzz a lot but I may sell it, they are going for about $350 on ebay these days.

Is that the one that cops the Early Page sound? I would love to have that tone but I just can't justify spending 300 bucks on a fuzz.
I've heard the Guyatone Fuzz does what my Super Fuzz does and it only costs 70 bucks. I want to try it and see and if it does I will sell the Super Fuzz.
The thing about fuzz for me these days is I love the tone but it's probably not going to be anything I'm going to use live. One of my dreams is to set up a fuzz for that "Spirit In The Sky" tone and use it for some kind of psychedelic freak at a gig.

Actually they're $189....still at the top of what I think a drive pedal should cost...

Throbak Electronics offers the Stone Bender MKII Pro, a faithful reproduction of the fabled 3 germanium Sola Sound Tone Bender MKII Professional used by Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.
We have added several features that allow you to customize the pedal to create your own Signature Sound. Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Brian May had Roger Mayer and Peter Cornish customize their effects to create their own signature sound. We give this control to you.
A pre gain switch makes this a great overdrive pedal as well as a monster high gain fuzz box that gives endless sustain and useable feedback. Also included is a user adjustable internal bias pot.
NEW FEATURE: We have also included a new feature we call the Tone Color switch. It takes just a bit of the treble edge off the tone when activated. It is reminiscent of the tones from the better three knob Color Sound Tonebenders when activated. The feature is now added at no additional charge on all new Stone Bender MKII Pro pedals.
These added features do not change the original circuit but put control of the tone and character of the effect in your hands. Original germanium effects are notorious for inconsistency of sound from one unit to the other. We have tamed these inconsistencies and put the tone changing variables within your control so you can create your own signature sound with this classic effect.
Sound Clips:
The Throbak 18 watt Classic is the amplifier featured in all sound clips.

"The Stone Bender works perfectly and sounds fantastic. Congrats on your achievement - you have produced a really excellent pedal here. This sounds really close to the early Jimmy Page sound IMO."

I must have bad luck with Danelectro pedals. I have owned two of them, and Surf & Turf Compressor and the French Fries AutoWah (which I won in a raffle on the EG forum).
The S&T compressor was far and away the worst pedal I have ever owned. It is very noisy and picked up AM radio stations. Plus when it did work it was decent at best at compression. The AutoWah is ok, but seems to be a tone killer. I'll probably trade it in at Music-Go-Round soon.
I have friends here who are very good players that love their Dano pedals. One of the best blues guys I know uses his Cool Cat pedal all the time. I must get all the ones that QC misses....

Well, the ones you owned were the older "mini" pedals, in plastic housings...I'm not sure the quality was as high on those. The new Cool Cat series are in metal cases, with metal jacks, and true bypass switching - they seem built like tanks.
