you want a dano fish & chips or BOSS GE-7. find either one used. your tuner is either the Korg Pitchblack or the Turbo Tuner. you don't want a tubescreamer.

Oh, I want a fuzz too. But my plans were changed for me a little (well, maybe a LOT) and the project I've gotten myself involved in isn't going to require a fuzz. I want one to play with at home though.
There's a fish & chips on ebay right now that I'm considering snatching up today.

Hopefully you have better luck with the Fish & Chips than I have had with Dano pedals. I have owned two and they were both total POS's.
For the tube screamer look at a Bad Monkey. Good sounding pedal for a bargain $$.

Barber LTD is the shit!
I've been doing some youtube research the last few days and I like the Barber stuff that I've seen. Will definietly check that one out.
Also, I need to add an attenuator to the list, if anyone has one they want to unload.

EQ, OD, Attenuator
....what kinda tones are you shooting for and what makes you think this combo is going to get you there?

The EQ is just a crap shoot in hopes of dialing some of the muddy out of the gain channel. The OD is so I can use the (already-great sounding) clean channel for the OD tones. An attenuator is just so can play it at home.
After re-reading this thread I sounded a good bit more mysterious about what I'm doing than I intended to, considering I didn't intend to at all. Instead of seeking out a punk band, I was essentially sought out by a guy who's planting a church locally. He wants me to help run the music program, so what I really need at this point is some clean headroom and a pretty versatile sound. Also, we aren't sure what size room we'll end up in, so the attenuator could come in handy for weekly services as well, depending. I'm actually considering some sort of POD or something just to have it all in one package.

the attenuator is to get more gain out of the amp without the volume. if you're using dirt pedals, it's probably not necessary.
i'm guessing this is for the new Crate? have you checked out the tubes to make sure they're still good? your issue with the gain channel could be a worn tube or other problems. course, it could just sound shitty, but those amps seem to get some nice praise for their dirt channels.

Yeah, the attenuator is mostly just so I can play at home, which would require me to knock the volume down considerably. I can barely touch the knob without it getting too loud for my living situation, with a young daughter and another apartment 12 feet away.
Like I said in the NAD thread, the gain channel may sound better once I've been able to turn that knob a a little more (in fact it almost certainly will) but I want the opportunity to do that before I'm playing in front of other people, even if it is rehearsal.

I wouldn't dare throw down cash on an attenuator until you have a chance to crank that amp and know that's the kinda gain tones you're looking for. Attenuators let you get the power tubes working hard with out the volume but not every tube amp sounds better pushed into that territory.
Until you have a chance to put this through it's paces and find out what you think the amps strengths and weaknesses are for the type of music you are going to play, I actually wouldn't bother with anything short of an OD/Dist pedal & tuner to be honest. EQ's work great in-front or in the loop for massaging your tone and dialing out flubbery low end but they aren't going to transform a crap tone into the tone of the gods. I used to run a Nady GEQ15 in the loop of my JCM900 and it definitely helped get rid of the coffee can distortion that amp had.
