Excellent! I used to have an early 70's AMC Ambassador that I got for 150 bucks when I was 18...

I never even knew these even existed. 315 HP in a 3,000 pound car seems like it would be a pretty good time.

Those cars were monsters when they came out. There were a few that ran at Fremont Drag Strip every week, pretty much factory. Also one of the better looking Ramblers.

AMC made some interesting cars. Unfortunately, they also made the Pacer and the Gremlin.

Lots of body filler on the right side, Mark. Still would have been an awesome project. I loved that body!

Look at the oil filter.... is there any way to change it without making a huge mess?! :D

Yeah..one reason why I walked from the car was that there were some parts missing that the guy was "eventually" going to get me. The body filler was pretty extensive on one side but other than that it was a pretty straight old car that hadn't been driven in 20 years.

Love the design of the back end and the dash the most. Very clean, cool lines on that body style.

I had a buddy who was a couple years older than me and already had a driver's license and a car... a booger green 400 just like that one, all restored and immaculate. I dug it.

The 70's were not kind to them. My Dad actually bought a totally decked out Pacer. I believe it was the D/L model. It was the biggest piece of junk he ever bought.

I had a buddy with a Pacer. We always talked about filling it with water and stocking it with goldfish.

And don't forget the Matador. It was the ugliest, imo :)
