The Taylor K64ce 12-string acoustic/electric guitar brings the great sound of koa back to the Taylor line! This jumbo-style guitar features a single Venetian cutaway, with beautiful and amazing-sounding Hawaiian Koa wood making up its top, back and sides. This gorgeous wood is accentuated by breathtaking binding and abalone appointments. The K64ce's tropical mahogany neck is topped with a quality ebony fingerboard, and the neck inlays are specific to Taylor's Koa Series. You'll love the excellent midrange projection and beautiful 12-string shimmer you get out of the great-playing K64ce.

A beautiful guitar - I'm not crazy about the Koa top though. It is a decent top wood at best as far as tone goes (gorgeous to look at though...).

I'd hit it, but I'd never pay what they're asking for a 12 string.

The thing is, the "12 sting" aspect of a 12 string usually overshadows the actual quality of the guitars tone in my experience. You can get away with a cheaper 12 string any day of the week if you're just worried about tone...

I agree.

Also, I'd maybe use a 12 string on an occasional recording session, and possible for a song or two at an acoustic gig. I don't think I'd use one near enough to justify $2k+ for one.

I don't even have a 6 string acoustic that cost me more than $400, and I play six string acoustic pretty regularly. :o
