I never use either pedal, and for recording I really like the MKII one that I built better. The Stonebender just doesn't complement the rest of my sounds and I really need a few other things....

I thought you used the Keeley all the time....

I put some sounds together with it a few weeks ago but the reality is that it's a little too subtle for most of the music I'm playing. That was actually a conversation I had with Oscar last week on the gig Thursday night was that he has the exact same pedal I do and never uses it because of that reason and it made me realize that I really never do use it. It's an awesome compressor but I'm really not a compressor guy I guess. The pedal that is on all the time is my RC Booster....it was supposed to be my lead boost but it's turned into my way of pushing the front of the amp to fake a more "cranked" sound at a lower volume..so now I'm getting the EP Booster from Xotic for my lead boost.

That makes sense. I'm using an LPB for my lead boost and have been pretty happy with it. Is the EP Booster a new pedal from them?

Ultimately just didn't fit with my rig. Probably the best fuzz of it's type that I've tried. I really like my home built one a bit more but I wish I could clean it up a touch.

you probably can by adjusting the input gain.

I'll have to take a look at it when I get some time. Right now I'm just buried in other stuff...

That is a pretty good asking price on the Keeley as well. But I came to the same conclusion you did - I don't need a compressor. Especially in a rhythm guitar situation...

Yeah. I had that think in my rig for a couple of years and it sounds great but it's not really different enough from how I use the rest of my pedals and it's not a distinctive enough effect for me to worry about keeping it. Great pedal but once again not useful for me.

Apparently I had the compressor priced too low...it just sold, too. :)

You probably could have gotten another $10.00 out of it.....

Not waiting until next week is worth the $10 I think. I hate selling shit on eBay. Even more on CL.

I haven't really found a way to clean mine up either. It goes from really heavy fuzz to OMFG!THISPEDALISFUCKINGINSANE!!!!11LOL1! amounts of fuzz. :o

Since I don't have any electronics projects at the moment, I may tear into mine and see if I can tweek some resistor values to lower the gain.

It works better with singles when you roll the guitar volume off. With hotter humbucker or even singles with the guitar volume all the way up, even with the gain all the way down on the pedal, it's still a really heavy fuzz.

all fuzz pedals work better with single coils. the lower the output, the better. my sToneBender absolutely loves my Ric. digs the tele, but loves the Ric.
