Any of you guys know if there's any difference in the functionality of Pro Tools 9 if you get a student edition?
Mrs. P is eligible for the faculty discount, since she's an adjunct professor at WVU-P. Can get the faculty edition for $294.95.
I don't see anywhere on the description where it mentions limited functionality or anything like that, but I wanted to be 100% sure before I decide to take the plunge. :o

usually the student/teacher versions are full featured in everything I've tried, they just need some sort of proof that you're eligible.

Good to hear.
As soon as my Blackstar HT5 sells (could be any day), I'll probably get her to pick it up for me.

I'm still on 8.3 right now. If they had come out with this a year ago I could have saved a ton of money this year not buying their damn interface

Which is exactly why I haven't gone to Pro-Tools before now.
I just got the new computer, and while it'll run my old pirated Cubase SX, I'm having trouble getting some of my old pirated plugins to run. I figure maybe it's time to actually buy some software. :o

:D
Our studio was the first thing I've done buisness-wise that was timed horribly. We use it on a regular basis and have one weekly class on engineering but it didn't turn into the revenue generator I had envisioned. I don't really have the time to do projects with it for myself since I'm so busy, too....hopefully in the new year I can change some of that..
