I get to run 4 CAT 5E cables across the ceiling of our warehouse, from one office area to another. We are moving our server room.
Up on a forklift, in a little cage. Sound fun?

Thats not bad... I hate the 60ft bucket lifts they freak me out they way they sway in the wind :o

Yeah, this is a 30 ft ceiling. But still, im not a big fan of heights. Im not really looking forward to this.

That would freak me out... :o
I'm not so good with heights.
I have to run cat 5 to our big studio in the next few weeks but I actually ran a 4" pipe from our lobby over the teaching studios in the middle of the building and terminating in the big classroom so that I could run cable for recoding and whatnot later on. It even has a draw string to pull the cable through :)

Thinking ahead is a very wise thing Mark. If we had done that, this job now would take an hour instead of all day.

Just make sure you tie another drawstring to each cable as you pull them through.
As for the OP, 30 feet is high enough to freak me out. Makes you realize that teaching really isn't all that bad of a job.

Since we built all the rooms I kin dof need to think about stuff like this. If we had inherited a pre existing space I wouldn't have even thought about it.

That's the plan...I'm just pulling cat 5 this time but I need to be able to eventually run audio cable (probably a snake of some kind) later on.... :)

At least we have a cage for the forklift now. I have done work here on the ceiling of the warehouse just standing on a pallet before. :o

Heights don't bother me too much.
I'd be tempted to bring my climbing gear and try to do it without the lift. :D

I know. Plenty of things have happened here that would get their panties in an epic twist if they saw it.
And Prages, that does look kinda fun. I once went to one of those indoor rock climbing deals, i had a blast.

The indoor gyms are nice. You can pretty much pick and choose the routes based on your skill there.
I prefer climbing on real rocks, but it's a lot tougher than the gym, and I very rarely actually make it to the top of anything. :D

If you are into rock climbing, you might have heard of a place called Joshua Tree out here in California. Apparently its a big gathering place for rock climbers. My parents actually live in Joshua Tree, but i havent really checked it out.

I'm not really big into rock climbing, and I'm not really very good at it.
We usually go 5-10 times a year. We live about an hour away from the New River Gorge, which has a bunch of great rock climbing. That's where that pic was taken.

It looks really great. Its kinda sad my life has taken a turn where i dont get to get out into nature much. Even my jogging is just around the city.
I do miss that. Both in Alaska, and then when we moved down here, i spent a lot of time in our local deserts.
I guess i need to make an effort.
