I am looking for a Chorus Pedal and mainly when I look at videos, everyone is playing a Boss CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4, and CH5...
Is this boss pedal all it's cracked up to be or are there other decent pedals that are just in hiding?
what are your prefences for a Chorus pedal?

don't get a chorus pedal. not only is it an incredibly dated sound, it also mostly sounds terrible. given your "pure rock" leanings, i'm not inclined to recommend one for modulation.
what i would recommend is either a phase or flanger. but they're very different circuits.
a phase pedal is basically a filter. it puts the sound out of phase with itself and then recombines it to get the wooshing sound you've heard. the more stages, generally the deeper the phase. you can get close to approximating a univibe with one but they are different as well.
a flanger is very similar to a chorus pedal in design. basically its a delay pedal set for a miniscule amount of time. the more delay and resonance, the harder the sound. so you can get a flanger to sound like a chorus pedal on light settings. you can also get it to simulate a leslie, but its definitely not authentic. then there's the airplane and puking sounds at extreme settings.
personally, i prefer a good phase pedal. its just more my thing. above all, i suggest that anything you buy, you try to play beforehand. not all modulation pedals are the same, even if they do say "chorus" on them.

its a doppler effect. real leslies are rotating speakers. the woofer goes one way and the tweeter goes the other way to create a warbling effect that you can adjust with an expression pedal. the univibe was an early attempt to simulate that effect, but instead sounded unique unto itself. Hendrix used one.
the classic flangers are the MXR and ADA. the ADA is coming back (again), but its expensive. the MXR is what EVH used along with a Phase 90. MXR now has EVH versions of both of these pedals. whether they're worth it is your call.

I probably won't get a flanger or chorus until later...
