The aquisition of the Bassman has put me in the situation of needing more pedals, so the small board I built a few months back isn't gonna cut it.
The new board will contain a Dunlop Original Crybaby, EVH Phase 90, Barber Direct Drive SS, Digitech Digidelay, Digitech Hardwire RV-7 reverb pedal, and MXR 6 band EQ. I haven't received the Direct Drive yet, but as soon as it comes in, I'll be building a new board, and leaving myself enough space for another pedal or two down the road so I don't have to rebuild if I add another pedal.
I'm thinking for my birthday I'll actually break down and get a tuner pedal for the first time inmy life. :weebz:

Yeah, I've already got the reverb pedal. Haven't had a lot of time to fool around with it, but the little bit of time I spent with it, I think it sounds great.
I'll get around to doing a thorough review of it after I've had time to mess with it some.

cool. i'm interested to hear about it. i haven't seen one yet, but i did like the EHX, and i'm inclined to buy it because they're based in NYC.

I read a few reviews of both the EH and the RV-7, and did some digging around on HC FX forum.
A lot of the reviews for the EH complained that it wasn't very reliable. A few different people said the pedal quit working within a few weeks. Of course, one of my bandmates has a Holy Grail on his board and it's worked fine for several years. idn_smilie
I don't think I saw a bad review of the Hardwire, and a lot of people actually suggested it in a thread on HC.
I'm not really reliant on reverb. I often don't even use reverb playing live, but it's nice to have if I want it. Since the Bassman has no reverb circuit, a pedal was the only option.

A few neat things about the Hardwire. It comes with a cap, so you can cover the knobs so you don't accidentally bump them. It's also comes with a velcro pad, already cut to fit the bottom of the pedal.
I don't know that I'll ever use the cap, but it's a good concept, I think, as long as you don't fiddle with your setting before every song in your set.

were you reading reviews of the Holy Grail or the Holy Grail +?
i didn't like the original HG. in fact, i bought your hardwire's predecessor, the Digiverb, instead of it. but the HG+ seemed much more solid, and the spring setting was dead on.
i'm gonna get one for my Mesa, and to use for rehearsals. my Allen has all the reverb i could ask for, but its a gig only amp.

I think I read reviews for both the HG and the HG+. One reviewer said he had had an HG that crapped out, but sounded great when it worked, so he figured they had fixed the reliability issues with the HG+, but it was either DOA or died shortly after he got it.
There were a bunch of 'This pedal sounds great on the rare occasion that it works' reviews for the HG.
I used the spring setting on the Hardwire last night for a couple of guitar tracks, and it sounds like a reverb tank to me. I haven't played around with the other settings yet, as I was in the middle of recording when the pedal showed up, and I didn't want to take the time to explore too much about it.
I did use it for the spring reverb and I also used it as a splitter when I recorded my bass track. I plugged the bass into the pedal, and then ran one output to the board and the other output to the Bassman.

this turbo-tuner is $120. seems to be the smallest and yet the most accurate tuner out there. here is a youtube comparison of it against the incredibly overrated Strobostomp

+ 1 for the Turbo Tuner ST200.
I ran across this today... if your not in to Velcro this looks pretty cool.

I had the original Holy Grail pedal and the reverb sounded OK for my needs (which are fairly negligible...I just like a little depth and if you can hear the reverb its too loud for me) but it was just too fucking noisy.

IMO, the original HG was a POS.

IMO, the original HG was a POS.
It was way better sounding than the Boss RV2, which is what I replaced with it. Still not as good as the tank in my Deluxe, though. The hum and other noises just weren't worth the trouble, though. I don't think at that point there were very many pedal based reverbs available.

the BOSS RV-3 was just as bad.
the Digiverb was good. the HG+ i played was excellent. the Hardwire looks interesting, but i haven't played one yet.

Give me a week or so and I'll do some overly 'verbed demos.
So far, I think it's great, but I've got about an hour total playing time with it so far.
