I really dig the percussion on this..

Its just a lexicon omega into cubase. We played most of the percussion save for the congas, that's midi using the LM7 in cubase. No reverb, composite vocal tracks, or autotune on the vocals, just copied the original take, moved one back a few ms, then panned hard right and left to give it a little depth. The old 78 record sounds are the grungelizer.
The big kick boom is ezdrummer.

Sounds great Tele - Dug the groove. It's funny because the rhythmic feel is similar to one Robert Randolph's tracks on the "We Walk This Road" CD.

Hhhmmmm. I've heard robert randolph on fool in the rain, but never that song. We just basically started playing things and when it was all said and done, that's what we had :D

It sounds great though Tele. As for the Robert Randolph - that CD is his latest release that came out this past summer. Very different from the older stuff - I like the older stuff better because Randolph's playing is all over the place but the groove on the new one is really cool - the second cut has real drone effect in the pattern.

Thanks guys, stay tuned for more tracks :thu: This song was written by our bass player Bob. He kept saying it probably will be a throw away song. After 3 different iterations and totally different feels, he decided that maybe it should just be percussion. We broke out every piece of percussion that we had and just started laying down rhythms :-) Bob said, can we make it sound like she's singing through a megaphone. That's when I came up with the old 78rpm record stuff for the beginning and ending.
