Roland AC-33 Acoustic Chorus Combo Amp

Does anyone own one or has used this in a live setting? I am thinking of getting one for acoustic gigs and/or jazz gigs.

I've owned a couple of acoustic amps and played through a bunch more. The Roland amps sound pretty good. I like SWR and Ultrasound a bit better myself, but I got rid my my amp and I just use a active DI now for my acoustic. Less equipment to schlep and unless you are playing a lot in a no PA setting a good DI will give you great acoustic tone live. If you are using one for an electric for the jazz gigs, I would definitely take a listen to an Ultrasound amp. They are in the same price range and I like them a bit better than the Roland.

Cool - I will look into the Ultrasound and see what they have to offer. The amp would be for both my Gibson Howard Roberts and my Ovation acoustic. Trying to kill to birds with one stone.

It's hard bringing rock tube amps to these type of events.

Well I tried several different amps this weekend at the local pushers but still have no conclusion. I am not in hurry so that is good. Tried out both Hartke's AC150 and AC75

They weren't bad but not what I am looking for yet.

I even tried out the Marshall AD50D as they was a used one for $250.

Tried out the Roland AC-60 as it is the bigger brother to the AC-33, not bad but I will continue to look. It was the best of all three that I had tried.

All three units were AC plug in. Never got to try an AC-33 yet but is should be just like the AC-60 but louder.
