....in a bad way.....

The Xaviere XV-580 featured a solid mahogany body, chambered with a solid middle section, capped by carved, flamed maple top and back. The double cutaway body and 22 fret neck offer incredible upper register reach, and the maple top, back and sides give this instrument unprecedented crunch, with remarkable sweetness. A pair of our famous GFS Fat Pat alnico humbuckers and full size Alpha pots deliver unprecedented tone and feel.

And only $289.00..... :i:

I was searching for a bass for my youngest son yesterday when I saw these. I ended up getting an SX bass package (bass, amp, gigbag, strap, tuner) for $140.00 (plus shipping). I searched the local stores for a bargain and everything was either junk or too expensive. If he sticks with this I will get him a better base, but I have heard good things about the SX basses (and I used to own a SX guitar which was a steal for the money..).

it looks kind of like an old Yamaha...

Exactly, or an Ibanez Artist. And I loved my old Artist and the Yammy SG2000's (like the one Oscar Jordan has). Plus the chambering should drop about a pound of weight and add a hint of a jazzier tone. I'm seriously considering getting one of those.

With a hard case the total price is $338.00.

That is a nice looking guitar.

I'm kind of a cork sniffer with guitars though, so I'd probably hate it. :weebz:

Yeah - that is a bit of an issue and I really did not notice that until you mentioned it....

i've been trying to ward off the GAS, but if its me, i'd get one of the new semi-hollows. either that or the XV-700 LP looking thing. same idea, except its a single cutaway with a backplate.
