Anyone else up for public guilt to help them keep their fitness goals on track?
I really have to get serious about getting back in shape and I think having to publicly weigh in on Fridays (or at least a +2 lbs/-3 lbs" sort of thing) might keep me honest....and if there are indiscretions on the weekend hopefully they won't figure as prominently as a Monday weigh in.....
What say you?

I'm in - but weight is not my issue. I could actually stand to drop 5 pounds or so. I just need to get my cardio health up to snuff. I saw a bunch of pictures last night from my 30th HS reunion (that I missed). I can definitely say that I am aging a lot more gracefully than many of my classmates are. A few look almost virtually unchanged, but there were some who look way older than they should and a very good number that were significantly overweight. I saw a picture of one of my best friends from HS who I have not seen in 10 years and I barely recognized him.
So I'm up for a Friday weigh in...

I guess it could also be about detailing weekly goals of other types such as just getting 3-4 days worth of workouts in...if you're doing weight training you might actually be gaining "good" weight some weeks....I personally need to lose weight and keep my BP and cholesterol down...

I would totally sign up for this but I am weak-willed and wouldnt follow through anyway.
I am losing weight, but not by any preset goals, just by changing the lifestyle. Like, saying to myself "dude, you dont need wings for the 3rd time this week. And you dont need 5 hamburgers for lunch. You will be OK with just one".
I have been walking a few miles per day, but not a set number. I need to start cardio, to be dead honest, but I am being lazy and just not motivated.

I look at it like having a virtual workout partner. When I was going to the gym everyday I would not only have the social aspect of seeing my "gym friends" but I would stay on track more because I didn't want to look bad in front of the other guys.
The reality is that I need to make a "lifestyle change" where I make better decisions on a regular basis and I stuggle with that so I am hoping this will help in that regard...it sound slike you have started doing that already....

I live right across the street from a nice park with a lake that has a 1.6 mile perimeter walk I really need to be doing - probably daily. Walking that is - jogging that would kill me at this point.
I did breakout the juicer yesterday and had a nice tall glass of carrot/apple juice yesterday after work...

I found if i jog for a few minutes then walk, then jog again its easier on my joints, and still keeps my heart rate up.

Usually if I am getting started running after a long layoff (like years) I'll actually just find a place like that to walk for about a month and then ease into the running....your body really needs to ease into stuff like that and starting cold turkey is what gets a person injured and not wanting to run....that Jeff Galloway book I posted yesterday is a really good and gradual program to get your body acclimated without injury.
I have a loop thats about that long in the neighborhood that I do both running or walking
