OK, so I pop in to the guitar store and do my monthly walk around to see what's new. I had been thinking about getting something with a Floyd again, but wasn't sure I wanted to pop for something expensive. So they have this hook where they hang whatever piece of crap gets traded, and really, not too much used stuff comes in. Now, I was really not looking for this body style at all, I would have liked to have something strat shaped, but the price was right. So off I go to rip it apart and make it right again. It was horribly set up, horribly out of tune, the nut clamps were rotated 90 degrees and stuck in the nut, etc etc. Anyway, I get it back together after some elbow grease and a set up and it plays incredible :o The action is low, the trem (Jackson version of a Floyd) is staying in tune perfectly. As good as my old guitars with original Floyds. Now to get the Jackson pickup out of the bridge and put in a George Lynch Screamin Demon 8). :D Oh yea, 200 bucks.

That must be another tele that Anton is working with...
It cleaned up nicely I think. We'll see how she cuts this Saturday.

I have never owned a Floyd or other locking trem equipped guitar, they sorta intimidate me.
Does it take a lot of getting used to, tuning/string changing wise?

I have never had a problem with them. Clean the knife edges and pivot screws every time you change the strings. Lube the knife edges with chap stick. I usually give the strings a day of playing/stretching unclamped in the nut. Initial setup takes a bit to get it to sit how you want, (balance between spring tension and string tension), but once you're there, it's easy. The first intonation is a pain as well. Once it's set up, string changes are really pretty simple. I usually put both E strings on first to kind of hold things together. Then the D and G, then the others. By the looks of things, I imagine the Trem on this one was most of the reason that it got traded.

Naw, the guitar gallery. I've been buying stuff from there for 25 years or so. I really try to buy everything I can from them. They've been really good to me over the years. What is JBG?

Haven't been there since they moved from the rocks... I hear it's not the same.
