I just found this free site:

It not only has backingtracks for popular songs, but also has some originals great for improv - I like the 80s ballad. The only thing I wish it had was info about what key the Backing track is written in(some posters give this info in the name of the track, but not many) to help with knowing what scales will work(I figured out the 80s one is in F- or at least the F maj pentatonic/major scale works well).
Its a realtively new site, so hopefully the database will grow.
