I got one of these (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may03/articles/sez5600.asp) used from a buddy. It's a fun tube condenser. I tested it out last night with some vocals and acoustic. It blew my mind.

And I just ordered these (http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-FUR-H6PACK) plus some additional units. My bandmates can haz their own monitor mix.

It's an SE Electronics z5600. It comes with the suitcase, shockmount, and power supply thinger. There is a hyperlink in the OP if you want to read a writeup about it. I have a buddy here who works as a broker for studios who unloads mics and other gear. He's been telling me to come by and check out the inventory. Most of his stuff is super, super expensive, but fortunately he hangs on to cheap stuff for people like me. :)

Yeah, but if you're into Logic there is simply no better place on the net. The guy who writes the Logic 9 (Sudio and Express) book, David Nahamani... is one of the mods there and a super nice guy. Good book to get too... excellent project tutorials.

That sounds great. I was just looking at the Logic 9 Express manual. 1200 pages?!!!! WTF?!!!!

Actually, if you can find a used copy of the Logic 8 book he wrote it's fantastic.... almost entirely the same except nothing on Amp Designer and FlexTime... both of which you can get a lot of info out of from the actual Logic manual.

Oh and 1200 pages is fuckin' nothing:
