ManufacturerName Yamaha
ModelName SA500
Case: GigBag
Color: Black Sunburst
Condition: Excellent
Price: $400.00
Description: The SA500 maintains Yamaha's tradition of perfection in semi-hollow archtops while adding its own unique spin with Yamaha's signature tailpieces and original "F" hole design. With a Maple body and mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, Yamaha Original AES Bridge, Yamaha Humbuckers, Front/Rear Volume, Front/Rear Tone controls, and Set Neck construction, this guitar is ideally suited for rock and blues, while the thinline semi-hollowbody design makes it just as well suited for pop and jazz. This particular specimen has a scaloped fretboard and grover tuners. Black Sunburst finish.

For aesthetic reasons I really dislike this guitar. Ugly sunburts and F-holes and the unnecessary scalloping....

i don't believe the scalloping came from the factory. most of the guitars i post are from gbase, and the vast majority of those are used and/or vintage. either way, they made it unplayable for 99.9% of guitarists.

I really don't care for this one either.

I like the look of 335 style guitars in general, but this one seems to be trying to put modern touches on the classic design, and they clash.

The tailpiece and f-holes are mainly what I'm talking about here.

And yeah, that burst makes even the quasi-clownburst on my LP look like an ideal specimen.

I like Yamaha's in general, but this particular one is borderline hideous. Mark nailed the reasons...
