Listening to Bulls On Parade first.

Man, I used to play this in my first gigging band back in the mid 90s. I forgot how much I liked this song. You guys do a great job with it. FWIW, I played bass on the song and Tony, our old bass player did the guitar and vocals.

Dirty Deeds: Man your singer is dead balls on the Bon Scott voice. It's really scarey. You guys should just do an AC/DC tribute band.

Live Wire: love0 I love old Crue, and you guys nailed it. I'd love to work this song up, but I don't think I need to be adding any more screaming songs into our set. That guitar tone is almost exactly like the original too.

Metal Health: Kevin Dubrow died? RIP, Kev. biggrin Once again, great job. You guys are really freakin' good.

The Jack: See my earlier comments about the AC/DC tribute band thing.

Tie Your Mother Down: Another one I'd love to be able to pull off. You guys do it great. Bastards.

Whole Lotta Rosie: You've got a great start on the AC/DC tribute band thing. Seriously...buy yourself a schoolboy uniform and an SG. heavy-metal-044

Did you think there was too much mid bass in there? I had a comment from our drummer that he thought it was too bassy. idn_smilie Sounded fine at home on monitors.

Many thanks on the kudos. AOK It means a lot. Tomorrow we are playing with Meanstreet, a VH tribute band. We usually do about an hour of AC DC to kind of follow the theme Dude00 with a couple of others mixed in.

I thought it sounded pretty good for a live take. Was it just a room mic, or did you actually run each track to an interface? If it's a room mic, it sounds fantastic. If everything is on it's own track, there probably is a little room for improvement, but overall, it's still a very good mix, IMO.

I'm just getting the chance to listen...how did you get the sound for "Bulls on Parade"?

When we did it, it was just a wah pedal. Worked pretty well. I'm pretty sure the solo is mostly whammy pedal.

Just a room mic. It's that sony PCM recorder, the one with two little condensers, kind of like the Zoom. Stuck it at the back of the room.

Wah on BOP

pick scratches for the solo AOK

I did eq it when I got home. I pulled some of the mid bass out of the 2 new ones I posted for comparison.

After listening to the two re-eq'd tracks, I really think I prefer the sound of the first tracks.

You're never gonna get absolutely pristine quality out of a room mic, but obviously you guys had a good live mix and that transfers well to the recording.

Tell your drummer to stick to drumming. biggrin
