I have a couple of heads at home I want to compare.

My 2x12 cab has 2 jacks in the back.

Can I plug both amps into the cab and use an A/B pedal to switch between them? I don't want to blow anything up especially the Dr. Z I have on loan. Looking to compare it to my classic 30.

yeah, don't do that.

first you want to make certain that the cab ohm rating matches each head. then you want to get an amp switcher so that you don't blowup the cab.

You could only really plug into each back speaker jack, if each speaker in the 2x12 is wired separately (not connected in any way to the other speaker), otherwise, you'll send current from one amp into the other amp, and at the very least, blow the output transformer of the amp, you're not playing, and possibly the output transformer of the amp you're playing due to the funky impedance it would be seeing (from the amp you're not playing). If each speaker in your 2x12 cab isn't wired separate from the other one, the only way you could do it, would be to A/B both speaker ouputs from each amp (not sure if the wiring in an A/B box is heavy enough gauge to take that kind of voltage and current, without burning out), and A/Bing the amp inputs.

AKA "stereo" ;)

Yuppers!! :thu: But it can't be one of those oddballs you can run in both stereo or mono. It would have to be a truly stereo. A few companies made stereo 2x12 cabs. I don't know if they're really that common or popular anymore.
