Friday after we went to the race track with my grandfather we stopped at a car museum we had passed on the way. They had some incredible pieces, especially an MGB prototype roadster that was super fucking hot. However, my favourite item in the entire collection was this:

John Lennon's '58 Bentley with very custom paint scheme!

The curator came over and talked to me about it and he opened it up for me to take a look at more closely. I wasn't able to get any decent pics of the interior, but the front seats are in the original black leather, while the rear seats were redone in lavender velvet. The car is almost all original, but somewhere along the way the carriage lamps disappeared. Either way, that was super cool. They also had Paul McCartney's green Mini Cooper and John Lennon's '65 blue Mercedes and the very last Mercedes he drove.

If you're ever in Sarasota, this is the place: http://www.sarasotacarmuseum.org/

That would be pretty cool to see.

Hmmm. I tried posting another pic of the bentley, but photobucket is hosed right now.

It was neato, burrito!

There were a bunch of other cool ones but that was the standout for me. I really liked some of the old Cadillacs.

Now that is style

If ever you're in the UK, you would do very well to go to Beaulieu. (http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/beaulieu/index) Pronounced "byoo-lee" :D

Little story about Graham Hill's '67 Lotus 49 F1 car, which was the whole reason I went. It was just bunged in there, parked in with the other cars, and you could only really look at it from the front, which sucked. I wrote an email to them, and the car was repositioned

I honestly never expected my letter to get a result like that. I went back there quite a few times, and got an awesome view of the 49 each time :aok:
