Hell, even GJ is slow on the weekends, and there's a smaller group here....I think it'll pick up.

I think so, too...I think that with you guys the "lurkers" who check things out from my site will probably contribute more, too...

I do wish this forum was more active not only on the weekends but all the time, cause I kinda want to be able to just "F5" constantly, but I am still content with the membership here and glad to be able to converse with you guys on a daily basis.

I get the feeling things might pick slowly up a little speed if we keep up posting. I think the hardest thing in getting a new forum started is just reaching a certain "critical mass" where you have enough regular posters to keep things moving along and keep people checking in without the site owner constantly working to keep the conversations going by posting every 2 minutes. With you guys coming here this week the ball has started rolling that way...
At the moment there are tons of folks who check it out but haven't seen much going on so they don't sign up or they might sign up but don't see enough traffic to keep them interested....the post count of the entire forum has more than doubled this week thanks to you guys ( ;D) so hopefully the lurkers will start becoming more involved.
I'm also happy with the "kinder gentler" tone we have here. There are enough forums full of nastiness out there that it would be nice not to have to deal with it...my friend Robert has a site called http://www.thefret.net which has a nice community of folks that seem to get along without the friction of a big place like HC so I have hope! :)

Oh good for you. I should do some cooking later.
I just met my neighbor friday, recently divorced guy. Turns out he LOVES music. Huge beatles fan, has posters and such all over the place. Loves all the oldies, Clapton, Stones etc. We talked about really great tunes, such as Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding.
Turns out he is a professional Chef, and plays no instruments, but has listened to me play. He said if i show him some stuff on guitar, he will give me cooking lessons. So we'll see how that turns out. hahahaha. As i have said, im a decent chord/strummer type anyway, so im sure i can contribute something. But i'll turn him on to your book.

I wonder also if it would help if we GJers started posting more in the "Stuff" forum, maybe that would encourage some of the others that have signed up to post, like your students and such.
I dont want us to come off as "cliqueish". hahaha

Now that's a catch!
Hopefully you'll share some new "kitchen wisdom" with us ;D

I guess I could always see about merging the two forums....

Yeah, it was cool meeting the guy. I look forward to getting some pointers. hahaha
As far as merging, maybe let it ride a bit to see if we absorb some more GJers, but maybe we "old timers" can post some in Stuff too, perhaps that would help.
I'd like to see this place grow.

Me too...we've been getting a sign up or two from HC each day even if they haven't been posting much. I'll be curious how the next few weeks go.
The last thing I want is some sort of HC/ Live Ruckus thing going on, though. That's a pretty stupid rivalry that shouldn't exist in the first place....

Absolutely. I kinda used to enjoy Bucky, but he seems to just pop up on HC to troll, that whole scene is getting annoying. hahaha.
That friend of yours i met at the concert, i guess he is a student of yours, i forget his name. We should drag him in here.

I think that was Randy...he's here as R-Dub, I think....I'm not sure if he is able to do any weekday posting because his job takes him all over the place....He's got a really cool amp ;D

10-05-2008, 06:10 PM
Oh yeah? What kind? I suppose i should check the amp section before asking. hahaha.
If i EVER am able to get ahead of the money game, i'd like to make the jump to a decent tube amp. Right now i just have to make do.
A friend of mine bought himself a Mesa Lonestar combo, that sure is a pretty sounding amp.
