It would be horrible either way IMO. I mean, to do nothing would likely be disastrous. This way sucks for many reasons, too. There just IS no good solution in this situation. None.
Oversight was needed when people with my income level were getting 500,000 dollar home lonas, but we all know that. The money just isnt there. I dont see any way this could have been fixed.
Like I said, though, the bailout plan isnt an answer, either.

I'm really not trying to drag the political discussion here. Sorry about that Mark. At least most of us can be civil about it.
I'm just really upset, because it's not going to work.

Yeah, uh, I dont think the occassional thread about something political related is going to send us all at each other's throats, everyone that has ventured in here is definitely the reasonable type, I think were all friends here.
Of course, thats just my 2 cents, it is Mark's forum.

I saw that on CNN. It passed by a fairly wide margin too. My house rep (Tom Tancredo) was on the radio yesterday morning and said the phone calls (PHONE calls - not emails...) to his office were running 10 to 1 against the bailout, and I'm pretty sure he was one of the 'no' votes. Since the bailout is now gonna happen - right or wrong - we need to slam some regulations back in place about loan restrictions to keep this from continuing on....

I hate to break it to ya, but Tancredo sold you down the river. Just like my representative, Pryce, did.

I think that if we can all be polite and agree to disagree the occasional thread like this is fine...its something we're all concerned about and I think we can discuss it reasonably.... :)

This.
The industry obviously cannot police itself. They had their chance and now thee should be hard and fast guidelines on lending.

This is the only thing I have read by Coulter, that has made sense: Timebomb (http://Timebomb)Normally I find her too far out but sadly this hits it on the head.

The Keating Five was big news, it's sad how easily we all forgot. Oh well, life goes on somehow.
