Since we need more threads here.....
Right now I have two acoustics....
My stage guitar - a Takamine EF340SC. The best stage acoustic I have ever owned. This one is a keeper. I do need better pictures though......

And the acoustic I want to get rid of, but can't. It's an Alvarez MD200C. Part of the late great Alvarez Masterworks series. Chinese made, but all solid wood - Engleman Spruce top, solid flamed maple back and sides. Excellent workmanship. But it is way too 'blingy' for me. I don't like the neck inlay and I'm not big on abalone or MOP all over the guitars. I got the guitar in a trade and intended on trading it away, but it sounded too good to let go. It is my recording guitar and sounds as good or better than many $2000.00 guitars I have played.

I'm pretty happy with those two acoustics right now. Ideally I would like a 12 string and an octave mandolin as well, but those will have to wait. I have been pretty spoiled acoustic wise for the past decade. I've own a early 90s Lowden O-10 that was incredible and had two custom guitars built (Langejans and a Paragon). The Paragon was the best guitar of any type I have ever owned, but had to be sold to pay some bills. And given that Rob (Paragon Guitars) has raised his prices I'll probably not own one again any time soon (a similar guitar would run probably $5000.00 today).

The Aria 12-string that is now my brother's guitar, my long-neck banjo, and the Luna Muse Burst guitar that hardly gets played now.

I love that rosette on the Dean.
The actual rosette is just abalone. I have one of these plugged in the hole:

I have looked at those before. Since I don't plug in, I am thinking it would be counterproductive.

My number one acoustic, a 1996 Martin SPD-16TR. Sold a lot of stuff and rolled all my Christmas and B-day credits this last year into getting this one.

My first guitar, a Joshua, given to me by my wife several years ago. I started out on it, put it away pretty much for a couple years, then brought it out and started playing regularly in May 2006. Now it is my campfire guitar I guess.

My 1935-1940 Harmony Vogue B. She was my first guitar... found her down the local dump on top of some soggy bags of manure. Didn't know what she was at the time, though... I wasn't too up to date on brands and stuff, and just wanted a guitar... but some research later on revealed her true identity.

I really like it too! But, the funny thing is how little it's worth. Apparently, you can purchase old Fender acoustics for very little cash because none of them hold their value.

Yep. Fender does not have a reputation for producing good acoustics, even though they have over the years put out some nice ones...

I had one of those California series guitars in the 80's, but it was black. I love the more natural look. I might have to do some searching.

While I don't own an acoustic guitar, I believe in playing my electric by itself, acoustically, to get into the guitar and find more sounds with the strings.
So I thought this would be just a nice trip, looking at some nice acoustics. I wasn't wrong, but you guys blew my mind.
I started in '70 with a '64 Fender Stratocaster, the longest scale length made, and kept the neck that way after being custom and home made.
But when I built my semi-solid-body I found a luthier to take my Fender copy neck and use ebony and make a full two octave scale,
slightly shorter, just enough to see, than ordinary Gibson scale. My playing found more abilities right away, so I'm a shorter-scale user now for sure.
Seeing the Fender Capistrano at first just made me think of an old country players Shenandoah, a twelve string and a beauty.
But when I read about Fender acoustics not holding their value, I thought about getting one to grab the neck, with that Stratocaster outline,
and making a new body for it, feeling free to change the Strat silhouette.
It might have taken small universes of electrons whirling, magnetizing, coalescing into the online signal and font we see to get through to me, here,
but your acoutics are ringing through too.
as always, John Watt

My Morris 303...MIJ, late 60s/early 70s. I surmise this by the 3-piece back...Martin started doing those in 1967. There is a wooden plaque inside the body naming the guitar maker as 'S. Yairi'. That would be Sadao Yairi, and he was known for buying Martins and cutting them apart to learn their construction techniques. Anywhoo...I've had this guitar for over 25 years. It was kind of beat up when I got it and I certainly haven't coddled it. It sounds great.

I've been looking around for an acoustic-electric to use on stage. Just got a killer deal on an Ibanez AEG10EBK:

Played it through the p.a. at rehearsal last night for the first time. The guys liked how it sounded so much they immediately started coming up with other songs I could use it on!
